Sweet Macrobiotic Breakfast - Millet

 

Ingredients:

1 (1dcl) little cup of millets
5 cups water
5 almonds
1 dried fig
If you don't have yin condition you can try raisins as a replacement for a sweeter taste.

Preparation:

Rinse millet in a strainer.
Put a cup of millet in a saucepan. For a more yang meal fry it for a short time. For a more yin meal, just add water without previously frying. Add 5 cups of water and chopped almonds and dried figs. Bring it to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes or until all the water has been absorbed.

When you want a change in taste, just before millet is cooked you can add grinded apple. In that case dried fig is not needed.
