- Nori Sushi Roll

Preparing of sushi is very simple and fast. You can always make sushi from cooked integral rice which stayed after previous or yesterday meal. If you don't have cooked rice, then simply make it with 1 cup of integral rice and 3 cups of water. Also for special occasions you can use Basmati rice, but then proportion is 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water. First cut carrot on slices lengthwise and then slices cut again lengthwise. You will get strips. |

Carrot strips add into boiling water and leave them for cooking around 2 to 3 minutes. Carrot should not become too soft.

Paste
for sushi is made from Umeboshi paste and Tahini. Take 1/2 of tsp. Umeboshi paste and add 1,5 tsp. of Tahini. Mix it and add gradually little by little water that paste become softer because it is more simple for smearing on rice. |

Aluminum foil also can be used for sushi folding if you not have Bamboo Sushi Mat. Smooth side of Nori algae put on foil and rough side use for smearing rice on. Rice can be seasoned with Shoyu - Soya sauce and with basil. Or it can be cooked just with salt - then it is not changing color. |

Smear rice on Nori and press with spoon to become compact and stick. Height of rice layer should be around 1cm. On both sides of Nori leave around 2cm free for folding. | |

Smear Umeboshi - Tahini paste along wide stripe on one side of rice. | |

Place cooked carrot sticks on top of Umeboshi - Tahini paste, more toward edge of rice. If it is near middle then carrot will go out and sushi will not be folded successfully into roll. If you use Tofu strips then put them along carrot strips, on the top.. | |

When sushi is folded, if you have done it right, then carrot and Tofu will be in the roll center. |

For cutting sushi slices, it is important to use moistened knife, and cut slices around 1,5 cm thickness. | |

You can serve it with sauce made from Shoyu, ginger and lemon juice. Sushi is very practical for travel as it is fast for preparing and have all daily needed ingredients, algea, integral grain, cooked vegetable and can have Tofu too. |
